Megan Brown
FACILITATOR
Director, McDonald Center for Student Wellbeing
Hi everyone! My name is Megan Brown (she/her/hers) and my career passion is Positive Psychology, so you can imagine how excited I am to be a part of this class!
I decided to be a psychologist when I was in the 5th grade (I know. Weird, right?) because I knew at an early age that when people had happy relationships and felt good about themselves, there is a ripple effect that positively impacts the lives of others. I felt that this was one avenue to making the world a better place. However, after becoming a counseling psychologist, I realized that even though I knew how to help people decrease their sadness and anxiety, I didn’t know how to help them find joy - until I stumbled across the field of Positive Psychology. I have now transitioned from doing individual treatment to population-level well-being work as the Director of the McDonald Center for Student Well-Being (aka, McWell) at Notre Dame.
My personal passions are my family (my spouse and two boys), traveling as much as my finances will allow, making music with others (I love to sing, play the piano or guitar), being in nature, reading, and playing board or puzzle games.
